Archos adds Opera to their website

April 27, 2007

Archos recently added a new Opera sub-domain to their website over at opera.archos.com.

The Opera section on their site highlights their portable multimedia players that come preloaded with the Opera web browser. Opera powers the web browser on the Archos 604 Wifi and Archos 704 Wifi.

It’s nice to see someone doing a little bit of advertising for Opera.

I don’t recall them ever mentioning that the 604 & 704 WiFi came with Opera.

Yes, noticed that site a couple of days ago… That’s the way to go

(Wonder why Opera removed page showing Phones with Opera versions preinstalled or for sale, though. It’s all about marketing Opera brand and products)

Archos, Nokia N800, Wii (collecting one in the morning), etc. Just so many Opera gadgets.

Nice to be able to browse without a computer.

If you have’nt realised, the mobilephone market is one of the most agressive.. (a bit like if you took your PC in for service/repair, and they replaced *everything* with the latest OS… and they have a ‘disclaimer’ that warns you that you may lose all your data…. :O )

It may be getting better, but that does not stop phone service providers from switching off services, and removing software that may harm their profits… I have heard of bluetooth/wifi being restricted/removed, and also media transmission(RF) being very limited…

    – so if your contract is cheap, check why…
