Opera CEO to give keynote address at Webmaster World PubCon; I'll be on a panel

November 13, 2006

Opera CEO, Jon von Tetzchner, is scheduled to give a keynote address on the first day (tomorrow) of the Webmaster World PubCon conference in Las Vegas.

The keynote will last for about an hour where he will talk about Opera’s plan for growing its marketshare, how Opera can compete against Firefox and Internet Explorer 7 (IE), why Opera hasn’t gone open source, and what’s next for Opera.

Incidentally, the guy who runs the conference is actually a big Opera user. Read his blog post on the conference’s blog about how he got Opera’s CEO to keynote.

If you’re attending the conference, come by for the keynote, which starts at 4:00PM. In case you can’t make it, there will be multiple bloggers there taking notes of the keynote. Barry Schwartz from The Search Engine Roundtable blog will be covering the conference, watch out for his blog.

As for myself, I’ll be on a panel discussing the changes of coding websites with CSS and HTML nowadays. The session will last for a little over an hour. This panel will take place immediately before the keynote address by the CEO of Opera.
