Opera Labs

February 6, 2006

With tomorrow’s release of Opera 9 Technical Preview 2, Opera will also open their Opera Labs to the public.

The Opera Labs will contain prototypes (technical preview and beta versions) of new browser versions. Opera spokesman Thomas Ford told Opera Watch that the Opera Labs would be a resource on the Web to get a behind the scenes look at the new products and technologies that Opera is working on.

In addition, Opera will also add content about open standards and Web applications.

More information will be available tomorrow (2/7/2006) when the Opera Labs officially open.

I think its an excellent move by Opera… many users [including me 😉 ] often used to complain about Opera’s closed doors development… man I just can’t stand suspense…
Opera labs will hopefully give us some more info about future versions of Opera

opera labs will probably be more community-based and prettier with more functionality than opera snapshot. and who knows, maybe it’ll turn out to be the next big thing… like opera venturing into larger targets; showing off what all products they have to offer, like google labs.

i am loving how it’s so easy to import/export rss feeds…
