Opera 8.0 beta 2 for Linux/Unix released

Following the Windows release of Opera 8.0 beta 2 last week, Opera has released today the Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris versions on its FTP directory. Opera has not made any official announcement regarding these releases at this time.

In this version Opera introduced a security fix for the IDN spoofing vulnerability. More details can be found here.

    As a developer, it drives me up the wall this seemingly unending stream of new browsers. I understand that we, as users, could do better than IE, but website people have to keep tweaking their sites to make them look half decent in each one. Depending on how many websites you are responsible for, it can become a fulltime job in itself. Why, why, why?
